North Carolina head coach Roy Williams got emotional talking about his players after the team’s season-ending loss Sunday.

The team’s official Twitter account captured the full comments:

The 67-year-old explained that “three of the last four years have been very difficult.”

North Carolina won the national championship last season, but this year wasn’t quite as smooth after suffering an 86-65 second-round loss to Texas A&M at Spectrum Center. It was the last game for seniors Joel Berry II and Theo Pinson.

Although the season ended in disappointment, Williams appreciated the efforts his players put forth.
