The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation [EU] 2016/679) has many organizations still seeking to become compliant. Unlike PCI, whose standards affect their own customers (thus, they were very lenient for the first 10 years), the European Union is looking out only for their citizens… meaning the fines are huge and there’s no incentive to acquiesce – especially for foreign-based organizations.

May 25 is fast approaching.
